What is the goal of Over the Block?

The main goal of our training programme is to improve the athletic performance of handball players by offering targeted exercises and training plans that are specifically tailored to the requirements and movements of handball. Over the Block places particular focus on your acceleration, jumping power and general handball-specific athleticism.

How is the program structured?

"Over the Block" comprises training plans for just under six months. Each week, the FB Athletic app shows you the sessions from Monday to Friday. There are four main phases in total, divided into seven chapters. The chapters last between two and four weeks. Each chapter contains a new training plan that progressively increases the level of exertion. Most weeks include two strength training sessions, one session focusing on biomechanics, and two sessions promoting health and injury prevention.

How and where can I buy Over the Block?

Once you have downloaded the FBAthletic app from your app store, you can activate the programme with a simple click on the Over the Block banner under the ‘Programmes’ tab via in-app purchase. Immediately after purchase, all content will be available to you without restriction.

How much does the 6-month training plan cost?

After careful consideration, we decided on a price of €139.99. When comparing the quality, duration and availability of this programme, FB Athletic clearly outperforms other market providers.

Who is the app and plan suitable for?

The programme is generally suitable for handball players aged 14 and above and can be used successfully in any age group. However, younger athletes can also use the programme if the coach considers them individually suitable for strength training. If you are unsure about your child, you can always arrange a personal consultation with Felix. The information videos also discuss individual characteristics for each phase so that adjustments can be made to suit the performance level.

How do you deal with an illness or injury?

In the event of an acute injury to the lower extremities, we recommend professional support from rehabilitation trainers. Depending on medical advice, during an injury to the upper extremities, the injury phase can be used specifically to work on your own injury resistance. If you are ill for a period of time during the 6 months, you should go back 2 weeks from your last training level and resume training with the programme from there.

What equipment do you need?

To get the most out of "Over the Block", you need access to your club's weight room or a conventional gym. There should also be enough space for jumping exercises, and it is advantageous if there are different floor surfaces (grass, hall).

Here is a list of special equipment you will need:

- Barbell
- Medicine ball
- Lacrosse ball
- Fascia roller
- Resistance band
- Pezzi ball
- Kettlebells
- Dumbbells

However, we also provide alternatives for many exercises. If you are unable to perform an exercise due to a lack of equipment and need an alternative, please feel free to contact us.

Can the app also be used offline?

It is currently not possible to download the exercise videos and content for offline use. Ideally, you should be connected to Wi-Fi at the training location or have sufficient data volume available. However, you can also watch the exercise videos at home and then simply enter your values to avoid high data consumption. We are already working on the download function and plan to make it available at the end of July 2024.

How can you integrate upper body training into your daily routine?

"Over the Block" was specially designed so that you can supplement your upper body athletic training on Functionality, Core and Recovery days (two per week). We are already working on expanding the upper body programme.

What happens if you want to delete your account or forget your password?

In the app, under >Settings>Delete Account, you will find the option to delete your account and all data.

In the login area, you can easily reset your password using the email address you provided.

Is it allowed to use the same account with multiple users?

No, only one person may enter their data and use the performance diagnostics. Account sharing is prohibited and will be prosecuted.

How can I delete my account without logging in?

If you want to delete your account without logging into the app, simply send us an email using the contact form or to info@fbathletic.de and we will delete your account manually.

Important instructions

As the app does not currently have an offline function, data consumption is very high during active use. We recommend using a Wi-Fi connection. It should also be noted that all content has been created to the best of our knowledge and belief. Nevertheless, this app is not a substitute for detailed individual medical advice.
